Collierville High School has had several highly praised math teachers but one of them that arguably gets praised the most is Mr Fayne. Mr Fayne, an Algebra II teacher, has been teaching for 15 years including 8 years in Collierville and he’s highly praised for his personality, his style of teaching, and for being an awesome Algebra II teacher. On what his first year teaching felt like, Mr Fayne stated ‘’My first year of teaching, I have to learn so much in short amount of time, it was fast but my teachers helped a lot.’’ Mr Fayne first began his teaching career in Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering, which was located near downtown Memphis. Mr Fayne enjoys teaching math because it can connect to real world scenarios. He said, ‘’One thing I enjoy is trying to connect mathematics with real world situations and applications trying to make connections by solving problems more than one way.’’ During his time at Collierville, Mr Fayne mentioned that he’s enjoyed with working with everyone in CHS and that they’re like a collaborative team. ‘’I like everybody, I really do, its tough to pinpoint everyone but everyone has been great.’’ Mr Fayne is also known for being a Lakers fan and he’s been rooting for them for over a couple decades. ‘’I’ve been a Lakers fan for over a couple decades, over 20 years at least.’’ He’s enjoyed watching a ton of hall of fame Lakers players like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, etc.

Overall, Mr Fayne continues to be one of the most highly praised Algebra II teachers in CHS. His personality and the way he teaches students in Algebra II has been praised a ton and also was honored for winning teacher of the month during Q1 in 2025. He’s continues to enjoy teaching math and working with other teachers at CHS. Also, he’s loves being a Lakers fan for over two decades and watching his team succeed year in and year out. His remaining time at CHS will continue to be lived upon for many years to come.
