Over the past several years, the Collierville High School Baseball team has had a ton of success and head coach Jeff Munier, and the coaching staff deserve alot of the credit for it. Coach Munier has been coaching baseball for 30 years and has led the Dragons to 236 wins and 4 state tournament appearances since 2018. His leadership, knowledge, and courage have made him a successful baseball head coach in CHS.
Coach Munier mentioned one thing he like about coaching the baseball team is ‘’the amount of success we’ve had for the past several years, the players and coaches I’ve worked with throughout my career, its been a honor to work with them.’’ During his coaching career, he’s had the opportunity to work with 2 Hall of Fame coaches named Phil Clark and Jeff Hopkins. ‘Working with them has been a blessing for me.’’ Both of them helped paved the way for Coach Munier to succeed throughout his coaching career.
Whether its leadership, courage, knowledge, or the oppurtunity to work with two hall of fame coaches, the Dragons have seen a ton of success under Coach Munier for the past 8 seasons. Some of his other impressive awards include TBCA Coach of the Year after the 2016, 2018, 2022 & 2023 season, CHS’s first state championship in 2013, and the opportunity to work with current MLB player Drew Pomeranz. If any baseball coach can bring another state championship back to CHS, it would definitely be Coach Munier & the rest of his coaching staff.
