A new escape room experience is coming soon to Collierville, promising a fresh dose of adventure, teamwork, and excitement for families, teens, and anyone looking for something fun to do close to home.
The yet-to-be-named escape room will be located in a retail center alongside popular spots like McAlister’s Deli and Booya’s. Town officials and community members are optimistic about what this new attraction means for the area—not just as a business, but as a place for connection and activity.
“We hear a lot from the community that kids and teens need more places to go, more things to do,” one town representative said. “This gives families and young people another safe, engaging option right here in town.”
The escape room’s strategic location is expected to benefit nearby restaurants and shops as well. With ample sidewalks and a walkable layout, visitors will be able to park once and enjoy multiple businesses in the area. Local leaders hope the increased foot traffic will provide a boost to surrounding establishments.
“This kind of development encourages people to come out of their homes, disconnect from their screens, and spend time together in person,” the representative added.
The project also ties into a broader urban planning concept known as the “third place.” While home is considered the “first place” and work or school the “second,” a “third place” is where people choose to spend their free time—places that build community and foster social interaction.
“This is a great example of a third place,” the representative said. “It’s something that draws people in for experiences, bonding, and fun outside of their daily routines.”
Students at Collierville High School are already expressing excitement. One local parent shared that their teens—referred to as “Dragons,” in honor of the school mascot—were thrilled at the news.
“When I told them I was helping with an escape room project, their eyes lit up,” the parent said. “They said it’s awesome to have more places to go with friends right here in town.”
As construction and preparations move forward, anticipation is building. The escape room is expected to open in the coming months, bringing with it not only a new form of entertainment but also another step toward a more vibrant, connected Collierville.
