What is Best Buddies?
Best buddies is “a club that provides people with special needs opportunities. Aiming to end social isolation for individuals with disabilities and giving them life long friendships,” said Lily Reafsnyder.
President and Vice President of Best Buddies
Jordan Lewin a senior and is President of Best Buddies. She is very active throughout CHS, she is involved in many clubs such as President of Speech and Debate, Vice President of FMP, and participates in many other clubs as well. Lily Reafsnyder is a senior and is the Vice President of Best Buddies at Collierville High School. Lily plays varsity high school soccer and is apart of Young Life and is a very active member in Best Buddies. Both Jordan and Lily has been apart of Best Buddies since the 6th grade!
Recent and upcoming events
Recently Best Buddies had a tail gate at one of the Collierville football games. Members and Family did fun activities before the game such as face paint and hair chalk. Not only was it such a fun environment but it made everyone feel belonged. In few days Best Buddies has a Sweetheart Ball with Best Buddies from all different schools. This is great way for Best Buddies to engage and have fun with each other! Best Buddies makes amazing opportunities for those with Special needs and it will be so exciting to see what they do in the future!
What is your favorite thing about Best Buddies?
“To build lifelong friendships,” said Caroline Sheals.
“To give opportunities to those who may not be given the chance,” stated Sophie Cogan.
Why did you join Best Buddies?
“I saw someone grow up and get missed treated because of their disabilities and I wanted to make sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to others,” said Jordan Lewin.
